Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GenusJagd mobile application ("the App"). By creating an account and using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of the service

GenusJagd is a quiz application that helps users practice German noun articles (der/die/das). The App offers a free tier with limited vocabulary levels and features, and paid subscription tiers that unlock additional vocabulary levels and features.

2. Account registration

You must create an account (via email/password or Google Sign-In) to use any part of the App — there is no anonymous or guest mode. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

3. Purchases and access periods

• Paid tiers are offered as one-time, non-renewing purchases processed through Google Play Billing — not as auto-renewing subscriptions. Your payment method is charged once per purchase, and is never charged again automatically.
• Each purchase unlocks the selected tier for a fixed period (currently 30 days) from the time of purchase. Access expires automatically at the end of this period.
• If you want to continue using a paid tier after it expires, you need to manually purchase it again (or a different tier) — the App will not charge you automatically and will not notify Google Play of any recurring billing.
• If you purchase a higher tier while a lower tier is still active, any remaining time on your current tier is carried over and added to the new tier's access period. Purchasing a lower tier, or repurchasing your current tier, is not available while a higher or equal tier is still active — you will need to wait until your current access period ends.
• Refunds are handled according to Google Play's refund policy for one-time purchases. We do not process refunds directly outside of Google Play's official channels.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to circumvent, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the App's access controls or subscription system
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to access another user's account or data

5. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, and vocabulary content compilation, is the property of the developer. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from the App without permission.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the vocabulary content is entirely free of mistakes. GenusJagd is intended as a supplementary learning tool and is not a substitute for formal language instruction or certification preparation.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App and request account deletion at any time, either from within the App (Profile → Account) or by contacting us. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, without regard to conflict of law principles.
